GINGER could spice up your sex life, a study suggests.
Researchers found that people who eat more of the fiery root have a higher libido and get lucky more often.
Experts suggest it increases testosterone levels and boosts blood flow, like Viagra.
It could also reduce the hormone serotonin, making people feel less awkward or embarrassed.
They asked 500 in China how many days per week they ate ginger and how often they had sex or felt frisky.
Ginger is a staple in China but Brits could top up by eating it in biscuits, cakes, beer, juice shots or ground spice in their cooking.
Prof Pekka Santtila, of New York University Shanghai, said: “Evidence suggests ginger can improve sexual function in both men and women. It may hold potential as an inexpensive but effective treatment to improve sexual behaviour.”
The link could also be due to people who eat more ginger having better general health.
Other benefits of ginger may include reducing inflammation and tackling nausea and bloating.
Studies suggest eating nuts, avocados, oysters and strawberries can also boost your sex life.
