Drag Race Holland’s fifth eliminated queen Sederginne was disappointed that thinking outside the box left her in the bottom two.
This week was finally Snatch Game week and the queens came through with their best impressions of Dutch celebrities and, uh, Joe Exotic.
The runway then had the contestants follow the theme ‘Split Personality’, which saw fellow queens rock impressive ‘half man/half drag queen’ looks.
However, a few – including fan-favourite Sederginne – decided to use her creativity to try something a little different from the norm.
The 26-year-old is a no-nonsense queen who werks every runway like it’s an art project, and we loved every second of it.
Instead of showcasing her best male and female combination in one fierce outfit, however, Sederginne went for something braver – half Kermit and half Miss Piggy.
‘I didn’t want to show up as the half boy and half drag queen because we have seen that so so many times,’ she told Metro.co.uk of her Muppets idea..
‘So I was a little bit shocked, yes, that they fit me in the bottom, but then also I thought the win would go to Ma’Ma Queen or ChelseaBoy because they also did something new.’
Unfortunately, the judges – Fred van Leer and guest judges Carlo Boszhard and Ruth Jacott – weren’t too keen on the look and even commented on how her painted-on Miss Piggy nose didn’t match the character’s actual snout.
She continued: ‘This [half boy half girl] is how we have seen it so many times and I thought, “oh my god there’s two people in the contest wearing the same thing as me, I’m not going to show up as the traditional look of ‘dual personality’.”‘
Ma’Ma Queen – who is non-binary – wanted to steer clear of gender norms and went for a look that was half Ma’Ma Queen and half their inner demon, which also fell flat with the judges, despite Sederginne’s approval.
‘I love Kermit and Miss Piggy,’ Sederginne continued. ‘My socks are mostly Kermit because it is such a happy face and [I love] these two together.
‘Also for more than 11 years, the voice over for Miss Piggy is a man. So actually, to me, that makes her a drag Queen and she’s always been that way for me to kick her out actually love each other so much that I’m just in love with them.’
Sederginne won’t let the elimination get her down as she’s still a ‘proud guy’ and is happy with what she achieved.
‘I’m happy with what I showed the world and what Sederginne had in her pockets,’ she explained.
