Elizabeth Banks gave her social media followers a brief moment of excitement after posting a photo of her ‘pregnancy’ stomach – only to reveal it was simply a food baby and she wanted her followers to vote.
The 30 Rock star set up the photo to look like a pregnancy announcement as she cradled her stomach which was exposed by her crop top.
However, Elizabeth was simply not breathing in and revealed the ruse in the caption.
She began: ‘So many people asking how this happened so I wanted to officially share the news that it all started when I voted for @joebiden and @kamalaharris then ate a ton of tagliatelle and then ice cream. #vote #feelsgood #pastababy #itiswhatitis.’
Elizabeth’s followers gave her props for a unique way to encourage voters, with one commenting: ‘Hahaha, election belly😂 Loving it.’
Clearly fooled by the ‘pasta belly’, another admitted: ‘You just freaked me out for a minute.’
Another declared the post ‘the best one yet’ referring to other celebrities who have tricked their social media followers with shocking photos only to ask them to vote.
Elizabeth, 46, is a proud mum to two sons, Felix, nine, and Magnus, seven, both of whom she welcomed via surrogate and shares with husband Max Handelman.
Over the past few weeks, the Walk of Shame actress has been vocal about the US presidential election, which will see either Donald Trump or Joe Biden elected to the White House.
In one Instagram post, Elizabeth said: ‘I hope it’s clear by now that ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES so here’s my reminder to #govote.’
‘#Voted early. I made a plan and it has been executed. Also, I don’t mind telling you I voted #bidenharris2020,’ she told her followers in another post.
Posing alongside her write-in letters, Elizabeth also wrote: ‘My vote is my voice about the things that matter to me. Excited to finally get to it!’
