We always felt that Indiana Jones missed out on a good rest and a slap-up meal after all of his adventuring on the big screen.

At least Harrison Ford knows when to take a well-deserved break.

The 78-year-old was seen dropping by a North Shields restaurant following a cycle, while taking a break from filming the as yet untitled fifth Indiana Jones film in Northumberland.

Harrison was seen cycling along the River Tyne on Tuesday, fully kitted out in cycling gear including shorts and a chequered top reading ‘Pedal Mafia’.

After clocking up the miles, the superstar hopped off his bike and stopped off at the Ship’s Cat in North Shields, where he tucked into the local fish delicacies.

Sources told ChronicleLive that Harrison ordered the £17.95 crispy sea bass, along with an £11.50 bowl of mussels – gotta keep that energy up, after all.

Harrison was also seen chatting to fellow diners and taking selfies with fans.

The Star Wars legend is currently filming at Bamburgh Castle for Indiana Jones 5, having been spotted on location in his trademark fedora by fans.

The castle has been closed off to the public for a week for filming, with flames and plumes of smoke pictured this week during filming for a dramatic scene.

The film is also being shot at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway near Grosmont, and Nazi vehicles and tanks were pictured on set.

However, no plot details have been revealed just yet.

What we do know is that this will be Harrison’s last outing as everyone’s favourite archaeologist, following 2008’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The film has been stuck in developmental hell since then and has swapped directors, writers and release dates, but boasts quite the cast for its promised 2022 release.

Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Casino Royale villain Mads Mikkelsen have joined the cast, as well as Marvel’s Thomas Kretschmann, Narcos star Boyd Holbrook and Black Panther actress Shaunette Renée Wilson.

Mikkelsen told Collider of the film: ‘I’m very, very excited about it… I rewatched Raiders of the Lost Ark the other day, it is so well-done and so charming, and it’s such great storytelling. So yes it’s a great honour to be part of that franchise that I grew up with…

‘I’m in a lucky position where they let me read the script before. And yes, it was everything I wished it to be, so that was just great.’

Logan’s James Mangold will co-write and direct, taking over from Spielberg who has directed all four of Indy’s big-screen outings so far.

Indiana Jones 5 is slated for release on July 29, 2022.
