Families and Father Christmas fans alike can be swept away to the North Pole on a train ride through displays that rival even the best department store windows this Christmas.

Springtime Nurseries in Enfield is known for its elaborate Santa Village displays and Santa’s Grotto experience and it costs just £4 per adult and £12 per child, including a gift from Santa.

Step into your own carriage with your little ones and wait for the bell to ring, signalling the start of your journey.

Then you’ll travel through an alley of Christmas trees, past a large enclosure with real reindeer resting in their stable or munching on some carrots next to Santa’s sleigh as they get ready for Christmas Eve.

Next you’ll enter the indoor section which boasts a large number of seriously impressive displays on either side of the train.

Pass snowmen, Snow White, Father Christmas’ house and the elves building toys in their workshop.

Once you’ve seen all of the beautiful lights and moving displays, you’ll be greeted by THE Santa waving at you and ringing his bell as the train comes to a stop.

Santa comes up to every carriage to say hello and have a conversation with all of the guests, asking children and adults alike if they have been good this year and promising to do his best with their presents.

The train then moves on to its final stop, Santa’s toy store, where kids can go on to meet Santa in his grotto and get their first gift for the year.

When it comes to Christmas, there’s no place like a garden centre, and Springtime Nurseries takes the (Christmas) cake.

Opening hours are 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.
