A CHILD actress from Love Actually claims the movie’s star Hugh Grant refused to speak to her.
Lulu Popplewell, who branded the rom-com “cheesy, s*** and sexist”, was introduced to him by writer Richard Curtis.
She said: “I remember meeting Hugh and he said, ‘Oh God, do I have to speak to her? I hate children’.”
She was 12 when her character Daisy famously told on-screen mum Emma Thompson that she was one of the lobsters in her school’s nativity play.
But Lulu said she now hates the hit 2003 movie for its portrayal of women.
She told the Almost Famous podcast: “I don’t regret it at all.
“But look, softly be it spoken, I think it’s a s*** film. It has aged badly.
“All the women in it are sort of passive objects. On re-watching, it’s not great.
“You also have to remember that Richard was writing in the context of the time.
