Married At First Sight’s Ines Basic said she had a verbal altercation with a man who got riled up over her not wearing a face mask indoors.

While the sixth season of Married At First Sight Australia originally aired in 2019, it is was shown earlier in the year on E4 in the UK, with viewers being introduced to couples including the loved-up Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson.

One of the stars of the programme – where couples are set up by experts and meet each other on their wedding days – is Ines, who had a doomed match with Bronson Norrish and secretly became romantically involved with Sam Ball, who later alleged that their affair was fake.

The Australian reality star took to her Instagram story on Tuesday, claiming the stranger wanted to ‘bash’ her.

‘I almost just got bashed at the shop by some man who was a construction worker, so I am assuming he is threatened or scared that Queensland construction is going to stop because Sydney’s has,’ she explained in the clips.

‘He came up to me, carrying on, and I thought he was going to bash me. I was waiting for him to fully bash me out so I could fight him back in the middle of the shopping centre. What’s wrong with people?’

Even though Queensland currently has a mask mandate in place, Ines told her followers that she has a medical exemption.

She said this is because when she would wear a mask, she would get nosebleeds and become dizzy.

The reality star went on to say that the interaction she had ended up ruining her dinner plans.

‘I really wanted a kebab too and now I can’t go back to the shopping centre in case someone bashes me,’ Ines added.

In another video she shared, Ines said she later saw the man being put in handcuffs by police.

‘When I was leaving, I seen him, and there was two cop cars in the middle of the car park, and he was handcuffed,’ she said.

‘So he must have just been unleashing his inner frustrations everywhere, golly!’

Australia has seen a recent surge in Covid cases, which has resulted in previous restrictions being put back in place.

In Queensland, residents must wear a face covering at public indoor settings including aged care facilities, hospitals and supermarkets unless they are exempt like Ines.

Married At First Sight Australia can be streamed on E4.
