Meghan Markle has gifted a copy of her children’s book to a Hollywood pal ahead of its release next week.
The Duchess of Sussex announced last month the release of The Bench, which she said was inspired by a poem written for husband Harry on Father’s Day a month after their son Archie was born.
Her friend, photographer Gray Malin, shared a clip of himself opening the first page with his 35.2k Instagram followers on Friday.
It revealed an illustration of Prince Harry, instantly recognisable with his ginger beard and hair, walking hand-in-hand with young Archie.
Meghan, 39, also penned a note to her pal on the first page reading: ‘From one parent to another – all my love from my family to yours. As ever, Meghan.’
The two are thought to have met in 2015, when he visited the then-actress’ home in Toronto while she was filming Suits, according to reports.
The Duchess also attached a note to the front of the book, which read: ‘With compliments of The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Please enjoy the advanced copy on behalf of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.’
Sharing the note, Mr Malin posted: ‘Received some royal mail! Congrats on your new book M!’
The book is the second publication the duchess has been involved with as she was the driving force behind Together – a cookbook featuring recipes from Grenfell women.
The Sussexes have started a new life together in Montecito, California, after stepping down as working royals for financial and personal freedom.
In the UK, the book will be published by Puffin, an imprint of Penguin Random House Children’s UK.
