MOLLY-MAE Hague has been slammed by fans after she moaned about Italy’s “grim” food after being left unimpressed on her recent trip to Venice.
The 21-year-old star was forced to defend her comments on Instagram this evening after she moaned about the pizza and pasta on her lavish holiday.
Sharing a picture of an ice cream earlier tonight, the Love Island favourite wrote: “I absolutely loved Venice but one thing I will say about Italy in general… The food is actually shocking?
“So controversial I know but I’ve been a lot of times now to different parts and I’ve tried a lot of different restaurants and I’m always so disappointed.
“It’s meant to be the home of pizza and pasta and I really can’t see how! Strange.”
She added: “Even this ice cream was grim.”
But Molly’s followers were outraged by her remarks, and the influencer was shocked by the amount of messages she got after the post.
In a video, the blonde beauty explained: “My DMs are going wild with this Italy food thing.
“Sorry if I’ve offended anyone it’s just my experience and everyone’s like: ‘You’ve only tried the touristy restaurants’, and no, I’ve actually tried all different kinds – like rural restaurants.

“I was recommended to go to all these traditional Italian restaurants that are meant to serve the best pizza and pasta and again I just wasn’t impressed.”
She added: “And it’s not me being ungrateful, I’ve had the best time it’s just my experience with the food.”
Thankfully, Molly was able to indulge in some British grub this evening, tucking into a roast dinner with boyfriend Tommy Fury before having chocolate snacks.
