Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has rubbished reports of a bust-up with Bruno Fernandes and insists the whole squad want to work together to arrest their current slump.

On top of a frustrating transfer window, the Red Devils have endured a disappointing start to the new Premier League season having conceded 11 goals in their first three matches.

Fernandes did not taste league defeat in a United shirt at all last season following his January move, but has already lost twice at Old Trafford this campaign against Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

The latter was particularly damaging, with the 6-1 scoreline representing United’s joint-worst Premier League defeat, and Fernandes was hauled off at half-time during the game.

Rumours emerged claiming the Portuguese midfielder tore into his teammates at half-time and questioned Solskjaer’s tactics, as well as having concerns over his credentials – though he firmly denied the reports during the international break.

Solskjaer, likewise, has rubbished the claims and says outside forces are trying to ‘create a division’, insisting he is still on good terms with Fernandes and the midfielder is committed to turning the club’s form around.

Asked how his squad, and Fernandes, have reacted, Solskjaer explained: ‘Well we’ve been in touch with the ones who have been away of course and it’s one of those things that you have to get over it as soon as you can and move on.

‘We know any little chance from outside, you [the media] want to create a division. I think Bruno spoke really well the other day about we are united, we have to stay together.

‘You can’t listen to everyone outside. We’ve just got to get on with it.

‘And Bruno has now lost two league games since he came to the club and he came in in February. But it’s been two in quick succession so he’s not used to losing league games for us.

‘But now Bruno, here, welcome to Manchester United, this is what happens when you lose a couple and they’re going to try to create a division between us.

‘But that’s not going to happen because this is a group that wants to work hard together, stick together.’

Speaking to Sport TV about the bust-up reports, Fernandes himself said: ‘I believe it is a way to destabilise the group. What was said is in no way true.

‘It’s true the manager decided to take me off against Tottenham but he told me it was because the game was over and we have a lot more to go for. Of course I wasn’t happy about being substituted but I understood it.’

He added: ‘If anyone wants to create disharmony at Manchester United don’t use my name or my teammates or manager.’

Two tourists, a mother and son, and their tour guide were snorkelling in the Red Sea in the resort of Sharm El-Sheikh when the attack happened, the country’s Environment Ministry said. They were rushed to hospital. An initial investigation into Sunday’s attack at Ras Mohammed National Park showed it involved a two-meter (six-foot) long Oceanic Whitetip shark, the ministry added. The boy is now in intensive care and surgery failed to save his arm, according to Ukraine’s State Agency for the Development of Tourism. An anonymous Egyptian health official said the guide had lost a leg, while the mother suffered minor injuries. Officials have closed the area of the national park where the attack took place. Shark attacks have been rare in the Red Sea coastal region of Egypt i..

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe ‘told to pack bag for prison return’ over new charge

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe could spend years more in jail (Picture: PA) A British-Iranian mother who has been detained in Iran since 2016 has been summoned to court to face fresh charges, according to her family. Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was released to house arrest in March due to the coronavirus outbreak, was told to ‘pack a bag’ as she would be returning to prison after the hearing on Monday, her husband claims. The mother-of-one is nearing the end of a five-year sentence over allegations of plotting to overthrow the Iranian government. She has always denied the charges. The summons came on Tuesday after it emerged that a UK court hearing on a debt owed to Iran, due to start on November 3, had been postponed for six months. Her husband Richard Ratcliffe said: ‘We don’t know what will happen on Monday, we don’t know how far and how soon they will take forward their prison threat. ‘But we do know that the Revolutionary Guard are signalling something to the British governme..
