As owner Sophie Gloss shared how she trained her dog to do this, Bear looked at Phil intensely as he was sat next to a huge pile of his toys.
He said: ‘When you let him go, he’s either going to take my face off or we’re going to be best mates.’
While the hosts were impressed by the dogs talent, Holly became uneasy around the canine when he showed an interest in her.
Bear took over a toy to the nervous presenter and let out a very small growl, indicating he wanted to play. Holly wasn’t having it.
‘I’m not sure, I’m scared. I’m scared he’s gonna… it’s like Wilson from Friday Night Dinner. I don’t know why, it was just the growly thing,’ she said, after the dog got a little rough with one of his toys.
‘Maybe I think he might bite my face’.
Of course Wilson is the dog of Jim (played by Mark Heap), a character in the popular British sitcom.
Holly couldn’t help but let out nervous giggles as the crew laughed at her obvious discomfort.
Her reaction was particularly amusing due to the friendly and inquisitive nature of the dog, as Holly made uneasy noises as Bear approached her.
Hilariously Bear didn’t seem to notice, as he kept going up to her and giving her his toys, but this seemed to make Holly even more nervous.
She added: ‘I like him from a distance.’
The owner explained how exactly the dog is able to perform these impressive tricks.
‘The beer thing started off getting random objects out of the fridge,’ she said.
‘I repeat the name, chuck it up to him a couple of times, and he catches it, and then we mix it in and play it a few more times with all the toys.’
If the dog wasn’t enough, later on the show, Holly suffered a huge gaffe when she accidentally revealed a secret wedding detail of Irish chef Clodagh McKenna.
Clodagh was on the programme to show Holly and Phil how to bake an elderflower and lemon drizzle cake.
‘This cake is so good and you love it so much that you had it in your wedding cake,’ Holly said.
Clodagh looked shocked as she responded: ‘It’s going to be in my wedding cake in August – but I wasn’t going to tell anybody.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10 to 12:30 on ITV.
