Including some already-familiar faces, the cast line-up includes a cheerleader, basketball star, guidance counsellor and “band nerd”.
All set to arrive in Hawkins in season four, fans were thrilled by the announcement that read: “New cast members incoming. Roll call.”
The announcement kicked off with an already-popular name among die-hard Netflix fans: Amybeth McNulty, who starred in series Anne with an E.
McNulty will play newbie Vickie, who is described as a “cool, fast talking band nerd who catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes”.
Regina Chen is also set to join the cast for the fourth season[/caption]
The Village actress Grace Van Dien has also joined the cast[/caption]
Meanwhile, Regina Ting Chen, who previously starred in Queen of the South, will act alongside Amybeth as Ms Kelly.
The guidance counsellor is described as someone who “cares deeply for her students — especially those struggling the most”.
A third female star to join the cast, Grace Van Dien, best known for her performance in The Village, will play popular girl Chrissy.
“Hawkins’ High lead cheerleader and the most popular girl in school,” her bio reads. “But beneath the seemingly perfect surface lies a dark secret.”
A new male star is set to join the cast in the form of Queen Sugar’s Myles Truitt[/caption]
Lastly, a new male star is set to join the line-up in the form of Queen Sugar’s Myles Truitt – who is listed in the line-up as Patrick.
The basketball star has “friends, talent and a good life” until things are sent “spiralling out of control” by an unknown “shocking event”.
The trailer for the upcoming series of the hit show was released earlier this month, and fans have been painstakingly going through every shot to see if it offers any extra clues as to what to expect.
One moment reveals a group of children who all resemble a young Eleven with their shaven heads playing with toys in a test facility.
The hit show is making a return in 2022[/caption]
The youngsters are heard greeting the show’s evil Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine) in unison, however Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was still in her room, suggesting she was already rebelling against her captor.
The scene has lead many Stranger Things fans to think the test subjects are the main villains of the season and will hunt down Eleven and those who rebelled or knew too much about the lab.
A previous season four trailer released in February 2020 confirmed that Chief Hopper (David Harbour) is alive – though battered, bruised and being held captive in a prison camp in Russia.

They added: “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American.”
Stranger Things season four is expected to be released in early 2022, seasons 1-3 are available on Netflix now.
