A teenage girl has been found dead in woodland in Essex.
Police made the discovery at around 7.30am on Friday morning just off the Upland Road in West Mersea, an area known to locals as Raymead Wood & West Mersea Park.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, Essex Live reports.
No other details have been released in connection with the girl’s tragic death.
Floral tributes were left at the scene, while others took to social media to pay their respects.
One message said: ‘So sad. RIP young lady. Condolences to your family and friends.’
The Reymead Wood is located within a residential area close to the West Mersea Recycling Centre.
