The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror XXXI has been delayed until November.
The much-anticipated episode was supposed to air tonight – marking the special’s 30th anniversary.
However, the official Twitter account for the yellow cartoon revealed fans would have to wait until next month for the spooky instalment.
Sharing a picture from the show, bosses behind the tweet confirmed the push-back.
‘Treehouse of Horror XXXI has been postponed until November 1,’ they wrote.
Right on cue, fans were quick to comment where they revealed their disappointment.
‘We’ll just have to find other ways to amuse ourselves until then…’ one wrote while another said: ‘Who thinks about Halloween in November?’
Someone else quipped: ‘Halloween isn’t over until the Simpsons say it’s over.’
While others asked: ‘This makes me very sad. Will there be a new episode today?’
Unfortunately, there was no replacement episode, as bosses explained how the National League Championship Series had gone to its seventh game, meaning Homer and co had been benched for the night.
When it does finally air, the episode will show three mini-stories – all taking on a popular movie with their titles.
This year will see Toy Gory (Toy Story), Into the Homerverse (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), and Be Kind, Rewind (Be Kind Rewind).
The Treehouse of Horror special has been a Halloween tradition of The Simpsons since 1990, and we cannot wait to see what this year’s horrifying twist will bring.
Treehouse of Horror XXXI will now air on Fox in the US, November 1.
