Paramedics battled to save him but he was tragically declared dead at the scene shortly after.

A 31-year-old woman remains in custody where she is being quizzed on suspicion of murder.

Police believe she is known to the victim and say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the horror.

They have confirmed a post-mortem will take place in due course and are trying to find the man’s next of kin.

Scotland Yard said: “Police were called to a property in Stamford Hill, N16, at 10.52hrs on Friday, 4 June to a report of a stabbing.

“Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have been informed.

“A crime scene has been put in place. Enquiries continue.”

The UK’s knife crime epidemic has been spiralling out of control over recent weeks.

Shocking figures show 19 people have been stabbed over just one week – with seven of them murder victims.

A police chief has now warned Britain is experiencing an explosion of violence with soaring temperatures and lockdown easing creating a “perfect crime storm”.

Ken Marsh, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, warned a “perfect storm” is brewing as lockdown eases and more people start to head out again.

He puts the spike in violence down to a number of factors, including the recent heatwave and criminals “letting loose, thinking they can do what they want” after lockdown.
